Maui Tiger sharks on south side have been fitted with GPS, they are currently doing the same on the north shore - this is a study to understand the movements/habits in response to the recent sharp rise in shark/human encounters over the last year on Maui. It is real addictive to track your favorite fishy friends, or better yet to see if they have been tracking you.

Fascinating stuff. I wonder why you don't see so much activity on the north shore. It probably is related to where the sharks are tagged and released and not necessarily related to windward or leeward shore. |
