I've been following the shark attacks on Maui and I remember reading something recently about a couple guys developing color schemes and graphics to dissuade sharks from attacking. From what I remember, they were using color patterns and graphics which looked like the surface of the water when viewed from below.

This got me thinking...... say you painted your board with graphics resembling that of a killer whale when viewed from below. Killer whales attach sharks so it might follow that sharks would quickly leave an area they perceive to be "killer whale" territory should they see a board painted to resemble a killer whale. Any thoughts?

They are decals.....my luck with decals on windsurfers has always resulted in a peel
One wahine around here surfs with them...

However...we had to "tag" a bunch of boards and ended up spraying this all over them:

I have three kids who surf, and I figure what the hell. can't hurt....confuse the giant beasts at least.....my guess would be two big straight black and white lines best...no guarantees!
