Check out the closest surf shops in the area. In my experience, they have the greatest amount of brands and inventory in stock that you can try on. Trying a suit on is very important to me. Needless to say though, they will be surf suits. I like the fit and durability of surf suits over windsurfing suits, but not everyone does. Also, surf suits tend to have tighter arms and looser ankle areas. You can use velcro attachments above the ankles to prevent water intrusion, but the arms must fit right. |

Jack's in Huntington Beach has a huge selection (watch for the sales on last years wetsuits in March). Frog House in Newport, good selection, great service. |

They sell Xcel suits which are decent quality and fit about the same as my Oneill suits I have had in the past. I take an XLS in both brands. |

ProMotion suits are WAY cheaper than other brands, and their suits are the best I've ever had. They only sell online, but have very good fit information, and you can call them up to discuss it if needed. If you don't like the fit you just stick it back in the box it came in, stick on the supplied label, and they'll send you the next size the same day they receive the old one. Great company to do business with, and they make a great suit!
