Coming back from a long paddle searching for wind I spotted what looked like a half submerged boat close to the east pier at Candlestick. Sure enough, there it was: 25 to 30 feet long, estimated passing by with the SUP, about 10 yards from shore, 20 or so from the east pier. The cabin was half way above water.

It is good that it is in a location where nobody really ever sail, but it is still a big thingy to have around. Shocked

So, no one knows whose problem it is.

Your government at work... Anyone have an old naval mine sitting around?

The problem is not the government but the plutocracy that rules this country. If the top 1% actually payed taxes our government, for example the Parks, would have the means to fix problems like this.

But I am in favor of dynamite, especially if we use it instead to blow up some upwind buildings. The boat can actually serve as a rather unforgiving slalom training buoy.

"So, no one knows whose problem it is."
The State allocates derelict boat cleanup funds on a (very) occasional basis. They removed the San Diego Ferry and the infamous Playpen Sailboat--and others--from the Delta 2 years ago. Most likely that Candlestick boat will be removed when some CEO in one of the new office towers complains it is spoiling his view. By then you probably won't care anymore, unfortunately.
