Very interesting concept, and you appear to have done a very nice job tying everything together. However, I have ask, how much extra weight did the re-design add? |

I'm not sure. I think it added at least 1 kg (2.2 pounds). A better board builder could probably have done it without adding much weight at all, by removing more of the underlying board and using lighter foam and cloth and less resin. _________________ James' Blog: Windsurfing Equipment Size Calculator

How did you end up tieing the fin boxes into the board structure? If they're just supported by the foam piece that you added, I would be worried about their strength/longevity. Hopefully they're tied into the original board somehow.

The wells that I routed out for the finboxes go pretty deep into the original board structure, especially near the front of the boxes. Also, the high density pour foam that the finbox wells are filled with should help bond and stabilize the fin boxes and the new and old layers of the board. I hope. _________________ James' Blog: Windsurfing Equipment Size Calculator
