[quote="isobars"]Think wiiiiiiide beaches. If ya walk in the right direction long enough, every patch of land meets the water, and most of NM's valley (it's the nation's 4th highest state, IIRC) land is sand. [quote]
A funny thing is my parents always called the beach "sand" here on the mainland dirt.

I cant think of any additions to a New Mexico Windsurfing thread, point the topic has run full course. Last I knew no shop existed in NM, was in Santa Fe.

This says for the Gorge, not to a place near the Gorge......... |

My God, but everyone gets sick of you people who demand that every thread I enter must be diverted away from the topic and focused on me. Most of them also get sick of you aggressive word parsers who demand that I explain the word "to" or "near" with whole paragraphs. |
Who are the "us" you want me to show?
Are you not engaged in word parsing by your "I left for the Gorge, but I don't live in the Gorge" comment?
And that "you people" comment. Tisk, tisk. Who are the "people" you refer to?
YOU PEOPLE
Noun
"you people"
(pejorative) Any outsiders of a clique.
Members of a particular group, collectively.
"That is the type of thing you people would say."
Usage notes:
In the United States, this expression, however intended by the speaker, has been interpreted as indicative of racism when used in discourse with those of a race different from the speaker's, or of discrimination on an ethnic or religious basis in analogous situations. |

Ten.
Years.
Old.
I went there FOR the Gorge, as in "to sail Gorge conditions on the Columbia River."
I can't believe anyone over 10 years old thinks it's worth their own or any reader's time to hijack an otherwise informative thread to worry about what the definition of "is" (or "sand") is. I'm responding ONLY in the hope that 1) you guys will realize how transparent your diversion of hundreds of threads to isobars is and 2) other rational people will join the chorus against it.
Coach, I'm aware of no one who calls the NM windstorms that very significantly dull the paint on cars and in some areas necessitate new windshields annually, "dirt storms". Even the National Monument and the DoD/Army Missile Range are called "White Sands", not "White Dirt".

The irony of Iso's last post is so thick that I don't think even Dude Bro Man's garden tools could cut it.
Complaining about hijacking threads? Pot meet kettle.
Oh, I'm ten. years. old? OK. I'm rubber, you're glue. Whatever you say bounces off of me and sticks to you. You're ten. years. old. |
