The Rocket GT is a very heavy board. Built more for teaching at beach clubs and schools. Tabou use to make three constructions. GT, Standard and LTD. They no longer make the GT. The design of the Rocket 125 is fantastic. I had the 115 and several friends have the 125. fast smooth and stable. I believe you would be much happier if you could find one in the standard construction. The Gt is just to heavy to preform and the LTD is to fragile for a newbie. You can not go wrong with the Rocket 125...... Contact Pritchard windsurfing. Matt is a great guy and is more than willing to give you input before you buy the GT...... |

Need more info on your local sailing conditions.
Your next step down should be in the 115-130 liter range. Still uphaulable but will let you get in to higher winds. And that may only be a transitional board you only hold on to for a year or two until you get your waterstart, footstraps, harness technique down and start playing with carve gybes.
After that stage, you may want to go down to a 100-110 freeride.
But it all depends on your local conditions. |
