Children are optional; skin color is not. Many people would prefer living among green and purple striped adults over a bunch of noisy children. Ditto at movies, restaurants, etc. |

Age is optional? I wish I could be 30 again if it was. |

No, but HAVING children is (or was) optional. Why shouldn't people who already raised or never had kids be allowed access to housing free of their noise and clutter? When I see movies with appeal to small kids (e.g., "Toy Story"), I go when there will be few urchins present simply so I can hear the dialogue. (Handling noisy adults isn't quite as simple.) |

Lots of things are optional. Do you think I could develop a community that would not allow elderly people to live in it? They're so needy, complain a lot, are usually pretty opinionated, demented and annoying to young people ,which all seem like good reasons to me. |

Why not, if it's YOUR community? Many neighborhood associations don't allow RVs, or U.S. flags, or all kinds of optional behaviors. |

Today, The congress voted to hold Lois Lerner in contempt. This was a bipartisan vote with 23 Democrats voting to convict her, and 18 abstaining.
Hard for me to believe that any D would vote for this if there wasn't something there. |

The part you find hard to believe is that democrats don't all ALWAYS toe the party line, regardless if that party line is right, wrong, or downright wacko.

Two historically (as in thousands of years) prominent markers of declining civilizations are (a) increasing government infringement on personal property rights and (b) overstretching military funding to the point it impacts both the budget and national defense.
a. Eminent domain abuse for personal gain is rampant again (WSJ this weekend), and
b. Obama is curtailing defense spending just as the global war cycles are peaking very rapidly, with clear threats from Russia, Iran, North Korea, China, et.al. |
