Anyone been down to the forebay lately?? Usually the weeds are in thick this time of year but since there has been NO draining of the upper res with the water shortage....Maybe less weeds this year??

Thx!!

The water level said 219+, but it looked much less than that today so we sailed the upper lake. Weeds? Yes, there's lots, but not on the upper lake.

At 219 the weeds are bad now
I thought I could squeeze a third day out of but it didn't
happen. I planed a little on a 5.3 but it was pretty sporadic.
If you look at the graph it didn't kick in till 7pm .
It was drippy in Santa Cruz this morning but as you
can tell from the forecast no more Marine Surge and its breaking
up sooner in the day .
So yesterday the weeds were pretty bad but is was windy enough to
power through them but its getting to where a weed wave won't work
all the time you need a full on weed blade.
Also I think I won't be going up there unless I see at least 220 from
here on out or above 25mph.
How was the upper lake , how do you get to the launch.
The water level was much better last year.
Mederos side is a little better.
as far as weeds go.

I was on the Medeiros side over the last weekend and the weeds were a factor but far from a showstopper. This time of year I use weed fins exclusively and they pretty much solve the problem.

The water level was all over the place.

I do try to turn in the channel so I don't fall in the weeds if I blow my turn.
