After taking a few days off Isabel was in fine form provided you didn't mind the occassional lulls. With only two sails in my car I managed to pick the wrong one, but was still planing on the 5.2.

Thursday Isabel. Always powered, sometimes really powered when you would enter those smooth 40 acre gusts out by the island. So good. Four woofs for sure.

Four woofs means good, right? Even though the water was just about perfectly flat, there was a spot NE of the island where the wind reached the holy shit level for a while from about 4 - 4:30, and I had to remind myself to pay attention. I launched from Shimada Park yesterday...excellent on a low tide with a southerly wind. Only one other guy launched there.

Dumbo is supposed to be off limits but what the hell..rules are made to be broken. Had to hop over the concrete barrier adjacent to the chainlink fence to get to the water. It was good 4.7/95 L sailing from 1 to 2:30 at the start of ebb. Had keep an eye out for Caltrans as they've hassled me in the past. Actually, my only worry was my van as it was the only vehicle parked by the bridge, but it appears that EPA is more gentrified these days.

San Luis Res 8/9/2014
I noticed they have been running the water level high the last
week so I thought it was worth a chance.
At 221 you there is only trace of the weeds at the surface in most
spots with the exception of one patch right of the Mederios treeline
and another in the cove on the other side.
It was pretty windy when I got there at 1pm but I noticed it was
dropping so I went with 5.7 and the freestyle board that worked
pretty well for about and hour then I was getting OPed so I put up
the 5.3 and a Wave Board. That was OK for and hour then I went back
to the other combo then back and forth till I left at 6:45.
Two others sailing from the North side .
