Call received from HR Health Department regarding unsafe conditions for swimming at the Hood River Waterfront.

Current E. Coli levels far exceed the levels regarded as safe and the Waterfront Beach should be avoided.

Expose to E. Coli could cause diarrhea, abdominal discomfort and nausea; among other symptoms.

Current updates can be monitored at https://www.theswimguide.org/beach/1568

Now one might be curious why it is that way and not the Event site? Are they measuring the swimming beach or the windsurfing launch. I can only imagine what goes into the water at the swimming beach...... Embarassed

My guess is that the cove at the park has really has poor water circulation since it is largely enclosed and the river current is very weak in that area.

Then add lots of young kids splashing around in the cove and doing what kids do in public pools and you got a recipe for E. Coli concentrations.
