Yes, we are still around and sailing in large numbers. Our new Australian website at https://windsurferclass.wordpress.com/ shows the Windsurfer history in Australia, the champions it has inspired and the activities and events. The site is packed with tips on sailing, racing, maintenance and free-styling that may be applied to other sailboard classes. Check it out |

Excellent! Watching Dennis W. sail in the Kona One World Championship says much of your fleet's high level. _________________ Support Your Sport. Join US Windsurfing!

Nice one.
I learned to windsurf at Narrabeen lakes in the 80s. Don't remember them having much racing back then. |

There's no web site. Just a notice via e-mail and announcement on this and other forums.
It was a great event. Beginners to experts. We all have the old school rigs, not the fancy newer ones the Aussies use.
Participants included an ex-IMCO National Champion, the current Kona lightweight World champion, and an ex-Olympian. But none of them could stay close to the winner.
Results and pictures shortly. |

Takes me back to the old Windsurfer Nationals with 200+ sailors... and no harness allowed.
Australia keeps the flame alive for fun,low-cost one-design sailing because of the excellent grassroots sailing clubs that are in communities everywhere. |
