Awesome! Congrats to you, Rexi, this is an amazingly difficult and techical trick. I'm getting veeeery close to hitting my first one, so....I know what you've been through.
I started using the mast mount on my GoPro as a training tool rather than for "look at me!" video, and it's helped a TON. It's hard when you only get to sail a couple times a month at most, you are definitely the only freestyler on the water, and probably the only windsurfer, and there's not another person who can do the tricks your trying within an 800 mile radius. _________________ Kansas City |

Really nice. No problem with someone grabbing the camera?
I know the feeling about completing a move for the first time, addicting! |

Thanks guys!
yep this has taken for ages and i hope itīs not too long until i land my next one. Like you say it doesnīt help when there is no one to look at and get feedback from but with the internet itīt great to watch videos and tutorials.
What helped me alot was that a friend of mine who is an ex pwa freestyler visited iceland and choreographed me through this on my living room floor and corrected my stance a bit. After that i started to progress again after being stuck for a long time. Also helps to make those crappy vids by placing the camera on the beach and look at afterwards |

rexi,
what exactly happened to that board shown at the very end of the video? And hopefully no injury to yourself...

yep that thing. The last attempt in the video ended on a rock with those results. Pretty damn big damage that i have to start working on
I thought i was all good, having sailed that spot for 20 years i though i was in a rock free area but miscalculated my position, tide dropping and slammed to that thing. Just happy i didnīt take one of those back slamming wipeouts on that rock! |
