it's worth registering to see those.
Insane.
Are they sailing inside a breakwater? Where's the "beach"?

Reid -- can you help orient the rest of us? What beach, what jetty, who's the bad-ass, did he make it outside the breakwater?
Great pictures, thanks!

fxop, sorry, I would rather not if you don't mind. Everybody made it back safe on their own. _________________ https://www.windsurfillinois.com |

If someone was prone to listen to tunes while they windsurfed they could be sailing in that listening to Gordon Lightfoot singing "The Edmund Fitzgerald". Different lake I know, but still one of the "Great" ones. |

Great shots! What was going on outside the breakwater was unquestionably insane. I can understand why it might be easier to keep things more conservative by hanging closer to shore with some protection from the full wrath of the wind and water. I have no doubt that for the folks that got wet will remember the day for years to come. Thanks for sharing. |

I wonder if waves South of the mid lake buoy were approaching 25ft - 30ft? There is another 60 or 70 miles of fetch with no recordings.
Interestingly today, 36 hours later, it is completely flat. I could take my wife out 1/2 mile in an open canoe with wine and cheese and not spill a drop and watch the sunset. |
