boom failure- this ever happen to anyone else?

By that logic, the screws wouldn't even be necessary...just push the arms into the head and go sail.. Rolling Eyes

Anyway, my reason for reviving this thread was to remind people that the cheap screws that Chinook provided with the triple clamp booms are highly susceptible to corrosion and failure if you sail in salt water. I've already decided how I'm going to resolve the situation, others are free to do as they please.

That is precisely why in all the years of windsurfing you've never heard of a boom head coming apart from the arms when under power. I highly recommend not using epoxy, because that will be the last repair you make.
