Quote:
What does Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts think about Gamergate? How seriously does Justice Clarence Thomas take Facebook rants? And will Justice Anthony Kennedy’s First Amendment enthusiasms extend to rap lyrics?

All of these intriguing questions are on the table at the nation’s highest court Monday morning with oral argument for Elonis v. United States. The case features a Pennsylvania man, Anthony Elonis, who claims his Facebook rants about killing his estranged wife and others were rap lyrics. Having been convicted of those threats, Elonis is asking the court to put down a standard for what counts as a “true threat,” which is not protected by the First Amendment: Should that test be how the speaker intended the comment, or whether the recipient felt threatened?

on a kiting thread do you go out and kite? on a gun thread do you go out and shoot a gun? on a rape thread do you go out and rape someone?

Rape thread!?!?? Something like that exists? That's where you've been hanging out? That explains a lot.

You're never one to shy away from the absurd. That's what makes you so gosh darn likable.

A recent hand-wringing article about some conference trying to come up with ideas to change the culture of sexual attackers on campus got my attention ... for about three politically correct, bleeding heart paragraphs. The conference clearly and deliberately avoided some obvious solutions proven in some scenarios to actually work: let the coeds pack and put sexual attackers away for decades. Violent (as opposed to date or statutory) rapists? Like it was when I was growing up: death penalty, or at least hard time until their victim can laugh about the rape. Date or statutory or malicious false accusations? They never again set foot on that campus from that moment forward, followed by criminal prosecution.

But ... but ... but ...
But, my ass. The buts are just details, most of which are already codified. Quit coddling them and put them where they belong: at the receiving end of their weapon of choice. IOW, bend over, you lowlifes, and taste your own medicine.

An obvious (to some of us) point. How do you determine if a woman crying rape is telling the truth?

Current case over here. Man arrested and charged by police, solely on evidence of woman's claim, and refusal to even listen to his side of the story.

Months later, while man waiting for court case and likely prison sentence, the Crown Prosecution service drop the case after the woman's story unravels, and man then charges woman with false claim of rape. Woman, faced with court ordeal and her lies being exposed, commits suicide.

Woman's family blame man, man blames incompetence ( political correctness) of police, and the rest of us wonder who CAN be trusted nowadays?

But the simplistic always have an answer. Let the women 'pack', or 'carry'. Sorted!

Quote:

A federal judge awarded more than $14 million to a woman who was barraged with anti-Semitic and threatening messages online after a neo-Nazi blogger instructed his followers to target her and her family with a "troll storm."

The judgment was handed down Monday against Andrew Anglin, a white supremacist and publisher of the website The Daily Stormer.

In his decision, judge Jeremiah Lynch found that Anglin "acted with actual malice" when he told followers: "Let's Hit Em Up. Are y'all ready for an old fashioned Troll Storm? Because AYO - it's time, fam."

What followed were a series of racist and sometimes threatening messages to Montana real-estate agent Tanya Gersh, her co-workers, and her family, including her 12-year-old son.

The judgment against Anglin included more than $200,000 for lost earnings and medical expenses incurred by Gersh, $821,000 for future lost earnings, and $3 million for past and future pain and suffering.

The bulk of the judgment, however, was the state maximum of $10 million in punitive damages against the white supremacist for what the judge called "particularly egregious and reprehensible" behavior and to "punish Anglin and deter him from engaging in such conduct in the future."

www.buzzfeednews.com/

Gersh sued Anglin after he posted her personal information on The Daily Stormer website in 2016, resulting in hundreds of threatening and harassing messages sent to her, her husband and son.

Anglin accused Gersh of trying to run the mother of white supremacist Richard Spencer out of the Montana resort community of Whitefish, which Gersh denies.

Anglin did not immediately return an email seeking comment.
