I'm looking for suggestions on a decent bag for my 11'8 x 79cm windsup. The bag will be used to transport on top of a car. Thanks. |

Look for the EPIC line of bags,it's quite complete. I've got one for my Kona and quite happy with it. |

I had http://midnightproducts.net/ make me a custom coffin bag for mine. You will not find a better bag or better materials, they are cheaper than many off-the-shelf bags, and you can pick from a wide menu of options. I'd throw mine in the cargo hold of any airplane or train with confidence, it fits like a second skin, the board glides out of the bag like an iced tea spoon out of a glass of tea (I leave my bag in my SUV and just slide the bare board in and out of it), it's beautiful, it comes in MANY colors and several styles and materials, and even with all the optional and custom bells and whistles it cost $250. I'm extremely impress with mine.
Here's just one of countless options (the black bands across the middle are not a heavy bulky telescoping section a la Epic, but instead frame an optional gear pocket) from their website.

Thanks, the Midnight Products bag looks very promising. I called to get clarification on measuring and received great customer service. |

Subaru Outback ... but my windSUP is an 8'3".
I agree ... their service is excellent, too. My fishtail board needed a custom bag, not one of their off-the-shelf sizes, so I sent them a meticulously drawn template on a long strip of wrapping paper. The result was flawless.
