Yes, it's about 2 miles north of the San Simeon cove and pier.

If there's wind, there is no missing Arroyo Laguna, even though there's no sign posted identifying it. Coming up from the south, there will be parked cars just off Highway 1, and a clear view of the action. Tourists love to stop too and check everything out, because it's a super easy access to the beach.

The closest forecast point is Piedras Blancas, can I rely on that wind readings? Or is it always just a guess at Arroyo??

Look for the Cape San Martin buoy to be over 20, and the Piedras Blancas Lighthouse to come up mid day. Often, the fog needs to clear for things to ramp up. The bouy forecasts are a good indicator for winds.

Thank you all again for the information about the beaches, and thanks to mikecole for the help at Jalama. Hope we get some more windy days like this. Here's a little video from March 31. Sorry Mike, next time I'll make sure Kamila films all the sails on the water, not just mine))

Nice video! Such a beautiful spot. Maybe it's time to visit jalama again. Last time I was there my day was pretty much ruined by a bunch of punk kiters that were not into sharing the river mouth peak.

You might find that County Line Malibu will be good today and Wednesday. This place rocks from time to time.

Jalama is just a spectacular spot.

Is the camping still first come first served?

Well done video Dimitri! Sure was a fun day, ended up using 3.7m late in the day. Thanks for the loan of your harness as well after I broke the webbing on mine.

Camping, it is now almost 100% booked up on-line using the SB County parks web site. Can't plan on getting a spot on the weekend but most weekdays will have availability.

Re: Kiters: the locals (Santa Barbara crew) are super respectful of all other folks in the ocean, surfers and windsurfers. Loopless, I'm sorry you ran into a group of bad eggs... I once had an issue with a dude who was crashing his kite on the beach and in the break and it was the other Kiters who encouraged him to avoid coming back to Jalama until he improves his skills...

Today looks good! See you on the water soon!

Mike

I am at County Line at the moment. Looks not bad already but can't see any windsurfers.
