FYI. SFPD ticketed all cars along the fence today around 5:00 pm. Those of us who saw it happening, moved our cars inside the park.
Not sure why they are cracking down especially since there are no events at the stadium any longer.
The park is closed on Thursdays and Fridays to cars .... |

Do you think the developers are paying them.
Or they have a new officer that is needing to make
quota.
The sign still says no parking during events doesn't it?
Or maybe there are trying to keep the donut spinners
and weed smokers and drug dealers from parking there.
Could it be a reaction to the hole in the fence from the
donut spinners.

That waivers between really annoying to site-ruining.
Any chance the SFBA could put forward the windsurfer's case? |

Fred, the energizer old man, was lost at sea yesterday; I came back early to look for help and ended up narrowly avoiding the cops. The Stick has been my main sailing site the last seven or so years; luckily I have never been ticketed yet (knock on wood). But Vasco, a longtime regular, has had a few tickets in the past years. He told me that he recently has one rescinded by write-in complain. Accordingly, the response was: you shouldn't have been ticketed in the fist place, but we can't tell you why. WTF?
San Francisco prides itself as a green city and actively promotes green sports such as cycling, running, etc. Why can't the city accommodate us windsurfers by allowing roadside parking on a lightly used four-lane road? The city used to post special no parking sighs during NFL game days or special events, rendering the permanent sigh somewhat meaningless and 99% of the time, no one gets ticketed. One may argue that why can't we park inside the State Park? The problem is the park closes early around 6PM and starts kicking people out at 5:45PM, during the widest time of the day. The park also closes on Thursday and Friday. This is not just inconvenient to us, but to everybody, including the nature loving poor locals who want to enjoy the water view.
I suggest that everyone of us, S.F. resident or not, write an appeal to Malia Cohen, San Francisco Board of Supervisors, District 10. Of cause, any help we can get from SFBA will likely be more powerful. |

Fred got picked up by a kind fellow as he was walking back on 101 north bound. He claimed the wind died on the inside. As you know, he is almost 78, it's getting hard for him to uphaul on a small board. |

You've gotta watch those rides in a limo. Especially if they have their lights on. Oh wait a minute....everyone drives with their lights on nowadays. |

TICKETS ... in California?
Whooddathunkit!
Good thing no one was eating a damn sammich; hedda got arrested or Tased.
Seriously, I agree that wishy washy enforcement is frustrating as hell, and that an organized, polite, focused, formal appeal to the City plus SFBA involvement would have the best chance at resolution. HOWEVER ... be sure you want a resolution. If the formal finding is much tougher restrictions, you lose. Maybe, just maybe, an occasional ticket is a better deal. Is this a classic case of "if ya can't live with a bad answer, don't ask the question"?
