Hi Gang,

Remember the old days when life was simple and all we did was watch the SFO-SAC pressure gradient, the fog and the sensors?

Now we know there are a lot more variables impacting the Bay Area winds and they seem to be changing every year. Knowledge does not necessarily make for better forecasts but it helps to know why you screwed up.

Recently the pressure gradient to Redding and SW flow has made the Coyote and 3rd. Ave. winds hard to forecast.

Today the forecast picture seems easier so I have started a blog on Redding and the Coyote and 3rd. Ave. nemesis the Hwy. 92 gap.

Check back tomorrow for the finished blog. Right now it is blowing 29 at the Hatchery and I hear the Call of the Wind.
