Currently, and for the past few years, the Hatchcam has malfunctioned and been very lackadaisically-maintained...until the summertime, of course, when the money arrives.

I've said it before; I think there is real opportunity here. It's time for a REAL functional Hatchcam at somebody else's location. Because the current Hatchcam situation sucks and has been sucking for a long while.

I guess it tells the tale of wind at the Hatchery. Time to shred!

Heh heh, I can see that area from the deck on my condo, but I do
use the Hatchcam alla time, when I'm out at Doug's and it's not blowing.

Tells the visual tale for Mt. Hood current weather too. A picture is worth a thousand words. Something to share with your friends.

Biff,
I didn't think my week could get any better after the last several days of wind, but you made it possible....
I had no idea this camera existed. I too depended on the Hatchcam, but no more. Thanks.

The nice thing about the Hatch Cam was that you could get some idea as to what the parking lot looked like.

Shame about the HatchCams, but between the Griffin House and Niknas cams you can still get a good view of the wind in the corridor:

Don't worry about the parking lot; windsurfing is literally dying. I have been amazed so far this Spring how sparse the Hatchery lot is. It's a GREAT time to be a windsurfer; parking spaces abound! Very Happy But perhaps in the near future, kiter vehicles will make up the difference. Who can say? In my opinion, launching kites at the Hatchery is just a bad idea overall.

P.S. Here's a good example of ripples on the water indicating a trip to Hatchery/Swell is worthy. These ripples, fading at the Event Site, indicate approximate 4.0-5.0m sails at Hatchery.

The Russian gal's FB page is pretty awesome but the new Griffin live stream is too. In test mode?
