Mrgybe continues to simplify the future of energy to basic talking points, essentially--
--carbon is good, solar and other non-renwables are bad
--the oil companies have done well despite Obama not helping
--we don't need no stinkin' regulation to protect the environment or health
Substantially more detailed analyses are available, and I found this one interesting: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-06-10/the-three-seismic-shifts-that-are-shaking-up-the-world-of-energy
To be sure, mrgybe is spinning with his screed's. This pretty much rebuts his claims about renewables:
Quote: | Renewable energy is now a force to be reckoned with. Last year non-fossil fuels, including nuclear, accounted for more of the increase in global energy consumption than oil, gas and coal combined. Particularly notable are record installations of solar panels.
The combination of slower energy demand growth and more renewable power meant global emissions expanded just 0.5 percent in 2014, the slowest pace since the financial crisis. increasing just 0.5 percent. |
I'm sure it was simpler to pump oil and not worry about public health or the climate. It's getting harder to justify. |
