Well said. Other than maybe jingebritsen, Jason Voss, Derek Rijff or a few other pro testers none of us can truly tell the difference between all sail brands. We tend to use one brand & think that one brand is the best out there, but the reality is we have very limited samples to compare with & in a blind feel test we would fail miserably.

In part this has some merit.
There of course are other considerations, like $, like does it work on my existing masts, and does it last 2 years then worth nothing or does it hold up and maintain efficiency over a longer period, and without being outdated.
Does the local shop support/ sell this, if inclined.
In a blind feel test( this can't happen of course, the sails could have no markings, but the panel layout, and various pulleys grommets are indicators of the shaper, even down to NP batten tensioners)
But I could feel with a few runs if I favored the sail or not, also of courseYMMV _________________ K4 fins

I am pretty good on knowing which drivers I can hit, and which I can't - I can tell right off the bat because my swing is my swing, and has been for 40 years.
But I would have to live in the Gorge, Hatteras, San Francisco Bay or maybe San Padre Island to develop that feel for windsurf sails!

2012 Clubman Chetah 7.5 & 6.5, Elite 6.1 , QU4D 5.6. 460 & 430 masts,
2 booms for these sails. 30cm + remaining for a 490.
Not ideal by any means but they fit.
