Once the upper part is cleaned up from the existing trash (shopping carts, etc.) I bet this spot will be able to clock high 30s in max speed (tough for getting strong results for Average since short runs)

Haskins Bay certainly has few things going for it. Looking at the google earth map, there is plenty of distance for 10 second runs on high tide even in the upper part where water state should be more flat and wind is possibly cleaner compared to lower north section where best speeds are clocked right now.
According to wind statistics, there should be plenty of windy days in next three months to get some more sessions in.
Does anyone know what is the status of shopping carts cleanup effort?

Your turn streetsailing.[/quote]

Gonna be in Black Rock desert on June 19th to 21. Should I bring sailing gear if the forecast is good?

Yes, if you see W or SW, 20 knots or more at Pyramid Lake, it could be good day speed sailing. I will be there too if it happens to be windy.
I am not sure if Black Rock desert surface is good this year for landsailing. If you have extra room for streetsailing gear it could work out....

You speedsters are missing out on the unsung gem of the bay for speed sailing, Redwood City Harbor. It has about a mile of flat marsh area up wind for a nice laminar flow of wind and many miles of uninterrupted down wind. Depending on the heat of the day it can be gusty with bubbles popping off the marsh areas. Takes some work and tacking skill to get into the zone but at times it is 2" chop, side off and blowing 25knots. Recommend only mid to high tide sailing for minimum wind shadow near shore edge and more sailing water before the next tack up to the slots. This picture does not show it, but on W to WNW days back deep in the bay is another ripping side off slot with 2" chop. This spring has been particularly W and WNW and higher wind averages. The Iwindsurf wind meters in the area are pretty accurate. Launch shown here is put in over rocks. Deep back in the harbor area the boat launch is much more friendly for put in but more tacking needed.

I'm actually bringing tons of Streetsailing gear so I hope it's good. Should be windy though. I'm worried I may not have room or time for windsurfing.

I logged a 28.52mph today in RWC harbor on a 2002 year Exocet 170L formula board, 1994 North 4 camber 6.8m sail and 65cm Curtis fin. Wind was NNW at 20-25 knots with broad reach 2" chop conditions. I suspect an actual modern kit with a speed set up would do rockin speed.

Hmmmm.... sounds like this RWC harbor is indeed an interesting spot... Maybe if the wind and tide works on Sunday... But Sherman Lake could be firing if the forecast holds... Twisted Evil
