I've been using a very low boom for years, since it gives me much better control. I can keep my own center of gravity lower, so I almost never get catapulted anymore, and I can hold the sail down with a lot of power.

My second day trying the hydrofoil, I had increased the angle of attack, but that caused more problems. The foil would tend to lift the back of the board, driving the nose into the water. So I'm going to put it back the way it was and keep practicing that way.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like there is much chance of wind for a while.

On conventional boards, low booms usually allows the board to be railed up by the fin.
Is it possible, with low booms on a foil, that you have less foot control of the board? Most foil guys talk about that weightless, no load feel of a balanced foiling moment, when everything feels just weightless and stressless, foiling along.
