Tubamancha is a secret wave sailing place with long, easy and small waves. In is difficult to get to since you have to sail 2 miles up wind to get to the sand bars where the waves break. It is in a wilderness area in the Pt. Reyes National Seashore. If you look at a Marin County map and find Drakes Estereo you will see there is a mouth of the estereo facing south. Tuba is just off the map. Take the road to Limantour Spit, carry your gear 700 feet, sail upwind and play in the waves with strong side offshore winds. Very lonely, very sharky and very beautiful. |
