surfdog55, perhaps it's time to end this post and wait for the next outage to comment again in a new post. Ending this post will foreclose the reading of comments from people like poussin, that might give the false impression that many people don't think that the sensors are vital. The fact that so many people have purchased the services of iWindsurf is proof of its value. Those of us who frequent Sherman Island can attest to the lack of any consistent correlation to other sites that would enable us to extrapolate the wind speed with satisfactory accuracy. The wind conditions there often operate independently of conditions elsewhere. It's fair to say that publishing the sensor readings from Marker 12 and 14 is very important to most of the Sherman Island windsurfers. It's no wonder that we express disappointment when the services are interrupted because we rely on it so much. This post has served the purpose of logging how often the Marker 10 and 14 sensors went down this season. Let's hope that iWindsurf responds by next year.

They've replaced the base station for M10 at Rio Viento and, presumably, the one at the house for M14. Pretty much confirmed it is the phone lines, which we knew anyway. (I have confirmed for myself that the phone line at RV was dead and the original base station working on a couple of occasions.) Troubleshooting a dial-up data line can be a PITA. Barring a move to late 20th century technology (see Berkeley, etc.) the best thing to do right now would be to order a new line for M14 from the Frontier phone company. (M14 seems to be down more than M10, which isn't near a launch anyway.)
