Hi Gang,
At 12:45 PM today I missed photographing the peak gusts but I was seeing liquid smoke over 50 feet in the air as the gusts were about ½ mile west of the Hatchery.
Still the 12:50 PM photos below of these bands of liquid smoke high above the water are impressive!

Actually there was only a 45 knot difference between the gusts and the lulls! Totally doable.
Spennie would have loved it!

Just another day in the Gorge yesterday with 85 mph winds recorded at Cook, Washington around 2:30 PM. I was hiking up Dog Mtn. around noon and there was no wind at all.
