Those 3S boards are magic. It's rare that someone will give one up
(not speaking from experience, just hearsay in the Gorge). The riders
claim they are good into a lot more wind, than most other boards of
that size, and super easy to ride.
Pryde sails, are not my cup of tea.

....?
Are you in the UK?
Cause the eBay 3S is. Seller certainly has a sense of humor.
The 3S , stands for 3 styles, it's a FSW , FREESTYLEWAVE BOARD.
THE ROCKET is a Freeride board.
A much different board.

Sure am in the UK.
From your message, I totally get it, after your explanation, why the board would be a different animal so to speak.
I guess is it like "a jack of all trades, but master of none", kinda thing? Or some other element which makes them so different?

The 3S is a a little difficult to describe, it is suitable to some degree FOR freestyle, for waves and for Freeride. This type is very popular and suits a wide variety of sailors. I don't know if FSW boards have the largest percentage of sales, but a healthy piece of the market.
The size of the U.K., INCLUDING Wales and Scotland is small. I would visit a few shops to gain some insight on the differences.
2 shops that I deal with, Sailrepair, 4boards.
The remarks about Neil Pryde are that individuals view.
Note the advert has no year of the sails.

Cheers for that, it's something I wouldn't have considered, the age of the sails. Because mine are twenty years old. So they're all new in comparison lol
