pryde went thru a rough patch about 10 years ago with their design/art problems. they have addressed those issues. frankly, they allowed artwork to supercede design durability. tell tale design flaw: a different color leading edge panel between the top batten and the next one down. if the sails advertised don't have that luff, they should be great.

why some folks don't like stable, powerful sails that load up like most other brands, i don't know....

Mark
The sails may be 20year older, but may not be in good nik.
Sails are a whole other topic, it's advisable to consider the MAST N SAIL TIGETHER, you want to get a mast that has a suitable mast bend curve for the sail, like further sail purchase will ALSO fit the mast.
Tush are very popular there. Like Ezzy is here, naturally among others.
NP do require a softer mast, compared to MOST.

I would seriously recommend a call to
John at Sailrepair. AND OR BOB OR STU AAT 4Boards.

There are tons of good shops where you are as well.
Where do you intend to sail?

The Tabou 3S stands for: FREERIDE, WAVE AND FREESTYLE. I have a 2015, 96 liter 3S for freeriding (no waves or freestyle). It's a great freeride board and very responsive and smooth riding. I weigh 168 lbs and use the board with my 5.2, 4.5 and 4.0. It's a little big for 4.0 wind, but that doesn't happen that often. I mostly use my 5.2 in 20-25 knot winds. I have the less expensive CED model which is strong and light.

I have a older 105 liter board for my 6.0and 6.4 sails (my 5.2 also works well on the 105).

Greetings Mark,

I didn't say the sails weren't good, I said I don't care for them.
I have a couple of female friends who ride them and rip.
My preference is Northwave, which you probably can't get easily
in the UK. I also like Sailworks sails.

The thing is, sails these days are pretty good no matter who
the manufacturer is, you just have to match the sail to your style,
you might be a Neil Pryde kinda guy. Sails before about 2002, could
be not so good (design wise), so age is important.

I am an "advanced" rider typically riding 4.7-3.7 winds in the Gorge,
and 5.7-4.7 on Maui.

To me "advanced" means I'm reasonably competent in winds to 40MPH,
and waves less than mast high (but not both at the same time ;*) )

Reasonably competent means I leave most of my jibes on a full plane,
and can turn both ways on a swell or a wave, and I'm comfortable
(well maybe a little white knuckled with 40MPH winds ;*) )

I weigh 180 lbs and I've been windsurfing for better than 30 years.

-Craig

I am going to pick up a Rocket next year. I weigh 210.

My heart says pick up the 115 as a 6.5 - 5.5 board. My brain says pick up a 125 as a 7.5 - 6.5 board, and add a FSW for 5's.

The 115 might partner well with my Firemove 122 for use from 7.5 down to 5.7, or 15 mph to upper 20's. The 125 and FSW combo would take me farther into the low 30's with the addition of a 5.2 or 5.0. Decisions.
