9:40 update: about 18 knots out 4 miles out I can see patchy 15 knot northerly wind. This is NOT an El Norte wind from the 4 corners but rather wind from the North Pacific High so the wind will be up and down even outside. Our best bet is to get some mild thermal winds to help and study out the winds inside. Right now the beach winds near the hot springs are ab out 3 knots with 10 knots about 500 feet outside. Fading 1 foot surf on the each. No one out. The models and window suggest mid to weak upper teen wind today at the campground.
Spread the word... the La Ventana human forecasts are back!
My internet here just south of the El Sargent hot springs is very slow but I can still do onsite reports from my house 100 feet above the beach with a 20 mile view to the north for windowcasts. I will also rough out forecasts but my connection is too slow to review all the higher resolution models so don't expect much. |

Thanks mike. Any idea of wind for the week? Automated forecast is suggesting no wind on Tuesday and some return after that? |
