Can get a pretty cheap flight to San Juan, St. Croix or St. Thomas. For Mid September. Is the season pretty much over by then? Any recommendations on where to go if I do go?
Intermediate slalom sailor with no waves experience.

San Juan Puerto Rico has wave sailing in the city during the winter. The spot is called Isla Verde and is a deep reef with 6.0 or 5.2 meter sails. There is excellent slalom sailing in the summer all along the south coast of Puerto Rico. No good rental gear available anywhere on the island. Bring a 90 liter converable board. Local sailors are extremely friendly, just stop in at the local shop in San Juan or in the southern city of Ponce. Virgin islands windsurfing is much lighter wind with no wave sailing.
