Lots of good advice earlier. I want to focus on two things.
1. You are "dabbing" in your carve. You put on the pressure then back off...put it on again and back off. Also you are bouncing your body up and down to do this. These things are costing you speed and delaying your sail flip. Roll into your carve smoothly, and hold it smoothly. You're not going to be there very long because you need to be flipping the sail sooner. Stop dabbing.
2. Watch the rythm in the jibe below. The carving portion (before the sail flip is initiated.) is much briefer and less physical (all the muscling you're doing) which gets me carved through downwind and flipping the sail earlier.

fine line between dabbing the carve and staying supple over chop. PP, your comment made me remember that his boom may be a bit too low. esp when you said muscling.
OP, your boom does look a trifle low. what's your height? i am 6''3" like the boom 80% up from bottom of cut out on most sails. higher with formula.... if your that crouched down in exits, further proof boom is too low?
knowing your height will help us help you. _________________ www.aerotechsails.com

If you want more speed out of your jibe, don't round up so far after your sail flip and it looks like you could be under powered. I see lots of people who would be glad to have your skills. |

Watch the bottom of his board. He's dabbing. I do like your suggestion of raising the boom an inch or two. _________________ Michael
