transition your stance and sail earlier.

seek gusts in which to corner.

try other types of jibes concurrently. sail flip first, or duck.

Lots of good advice earlier. I want to focus on two things.

1. You are "dabbing" in your carve. You put on the pressure then back off...put it on again and back off. Also you are bouncing your body up and down to do this. These things are costing you speed and delaying your sail flip. Roll into your carve smoothly, and hold it smoothly. You're not going to be there very long because you need to be flipping the sail sooner. Stop dabbing.

2. Watch the rythm in the jibe below. The carving portion (before the sail flip is initiated.) is much briefer and less physical (all the muscling you're doing) which gets me carved through downwind and flipping the sail earlier.

fine line between dabbing the carve and staying supple over chop. PP, your comment made me remember that his boom may be a bit too low. esp when you said muscling.

OP, your boom does look a trifle low. what's your height? i am 6''3" like the boom 80% up from bottom of cut out on most sails. higher with formula.... if your that crouched down in exits, further proof boom is too low?

knowing your height will help us help you.

If you want more speed out of your jibe, don't round up so far after your sail flip and it looks like you could be under powered. I see lots of people who would be glad to have your skills.

try raising your boom 2cm at a time.

crouching thru corners good. crouching that low might be a problem.

another symptom of low boom: front leg is bent too much, esp going upwind.

Watch the bottom of his board. He's dabbing. I do like your suggestion of raising the boom an inch or two.

not sure if this is helpful or not, but i captured a planing jibe using a backy mount:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tO0cmHjyu5Y

from this angle you can see some of the hand/foot placement things that have been discussed previously in this thread.

I actually have footage from quite a few jibes from this sesh... will try to put together a compilation when I get a moment.

If you put one of these on your boom/mast it will make it very difficult to grab the mast. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Windsurfing-Neilpryde-Boom-Mast-Protector-Windsurf-Brand-NEW-/222010443943

in planing jibes, i rarely touch the mast. try to simply your movements and steps. makes for a smoother move. lotsa steps = lots of opportunities to screw up and lose your plane.
