Great photos! It is nice to see some pix of lay-downs and things that are not aerials. There is too much emphasis on jumps and loops, IMHO, in windsurfing photography. Personally I like to see the sailor work the wave face.

Thanks. I really like the "surfing" part of windsurfing, I'm just trying to figure out how to do it.

Great surf photos. I think a lot of people can relate to surf style rather than aerial style.

That day was marked by irregular wind in the Swell/Hatchery zone with chop, moguls, and occasional monster swell. So it was good for schlogging/dodging upwind to catch a monster to ride but not good for mowing lawns or blasting. It was not an easy day but it was very worthwhile, in order to surf. If you want to learn some about wind-surfing, send me a private message and I can teach and show some. Success will not be instantaneous, but maybe I could help get on that path at least. And windsurfing will be more fun too.

My problem is once I get "surfing" I just get this big shit eating grin...start laughing cause I'm have too much fun...then everything goes to hell.... Then I get to do it all over again. Maybe when I can get past the fun of it I can concentrate a little more and ride the swells further....

Like most WSing "moves", riding the swell can be done in several ways. Some sailors, for example, luff the sail and use primarily gravity for power, while others keep the hammer down and bomb down the faces. The latter method allows rides that can go downwind for miles, as one moderates his power as necessary when the face he's on fades and he transitions to the next one.

Different folks, different strokes.

Ha ha! Too funny. Sounds like you are doing nearly everything right so far. Next time stick/keep one foot in a forward strap to help you make some experimental turns and you might find something out to keep you going further.
