I need a new sail, and a 5.3 MPR looks pretty good to me. I mostly sail in SF Bay, drag racing back and forth with other middle aged men, with the occasional little jump or attempt at a tricky maneuver (when far from shore and well out of sight). My tendency in the past has been towards fully cambered race type sails...but now Im leaning a little more towards bump and jump. Still want speed though.
A 5.5 North Tonic could be about $80 cheaper. Theres also the Gaastra Matrix 2000...
Im looking for the fastest/best/most durable -- any opinions? |

I have a 5.5 north tonic and it has been great! I bought it mid summer and have used it a lot since then. Its light, fast, and powerful. I couldnt ask for anything better. |

Having sailed both, I still have to stick w/the MPR. Its fast, stable and has an amazing range for a single cam. Im on 2 MPRs to complement my race sails and I cant say enough good things about them. Definitely worth the extra 80 bucks. |
