Board repair needed?

might even be able to use gorilla glue. squirt some in after you have gotten the foreign matter out. then put a weight on the area like a sand bag. gorilla glue works wonders.

Yeah, Gorilla glue can work. I think it's tricky, but use it all the time for boom grip repairs,clamping with masking tape wrapped around the repair. (killer results most times). If it's the urethane version of Gorilla glue, it's tricky (see below). If it's the Gorilla superglue John's mentioning that's another matter, but I don't think that's what he's proposing.

John knows all this, so my following comments are for the OP:

Gorilla glue is a polyurethane glue that moisture cures. This means it reacts with water in the air or on/in the materials you're gluing. When it cures, it expands due to the formation of little bubbles in the glue. It foams. (Same chemistry and mechanism used to create surfboard foam at one time.) That's what makes it "work wonders", as John says, because it's gap filling and expands into the joint beautifully, just as he described.

However, it can also expand enough to move the joint (your ASA skin and board) apart with some force if not secured, so once more, the way you clamp or weight the glued area will determine how well the outcome is. Too much glue or insufficient clamping and you'll get a raised area, which won't be kind to your Equipe's hydrodynamics. I'm sure it can be done by someone experienced, like John, but I'd be very nervous if you're not experienced with it. This is why I suggested epoxy, which doesn't expand.

Again, I've used it a lot for boom grip, but never on a board, so John's opinion carries much weight, but I just wanted to express some caution.

I think I'll get some epoxy resin and try to just press it back after scuffing the inside a little bit. If it doesn't work, I haven't lost much. I'll be sure to post about the process.

It is nice having a few boards to choose from. This one is the wife's and what she learned on.

130fxrs 2part epoxy need it until turns white work into crack with a little water 30min. Cure time sand smooth not too much tape edges painted with krylon.Its a catapult wound.
