Last Sunday
I got away without a weed fin .
I was using a 29cm because the wind was dicey.
up and down and holy.
You can see chunks floating(small fist size no solid patches) and on the floor of the lake.
I would guess by now you might need a weed or shorter swept fin.
The good news is there suppose to spray the lake earlier than
they did last year and the results were pretty amazing when they
did it last year also the water level has been pretty good.

doesn't look like there is a good predicted blow till the middle of
next week though.
Maybe a marine surge tomorrow questionable.

I sailed there last Sunday too. Later in the day and the wind was great 6.0 conditions. I saw no weeds whatsoever. Water level was quite high which is always nice.

Weeds showing at surface one or two spots with the water level
at 219.5 . I used a weed fin on both boards. Kind of gusty but well
powered on a 5.3 till about 4:30 when it dropped a lot.

Extremely Gusty today water at max fill 6/13/2016 at San Luis
Kind of a beating on 4.7 with some sections pretty good .
But I was having the sail reverse inflate(wind shear) and really had to muscle
it to stay up then there were the extreme holes. Yesterday was easier to handle and pretty good at times but kind of up and down.
Quite a good turnout on Sunday compared to recent use rates.

7/1/2016 water level 220 you need a weed fin now
Some slick patches in front of the trees on the mediros side
along the trees. and a few other places.
5.7 all afternoon or it should have been it tricked me in to down rigging
then went back to 5.7.
About 6 out no weekend crowds yet for the 4th
Slick spots like the one in the last picture I posted but covering
larger area's not that thick yet. Channel looks clear but weeds just under
the surface. I like the feeling of planning through the glass like conditions.

From medros side.
Water level said it was 220 but is seemed lower look at the beach.
AARP wind as from the other thread all day on 5.7 and had to work
to plane sometimes . The weeds are getting thick but the channel is
still mostly clear.

Weed Report 8/4/2016 they sprayed for weeds yesterday.
Its looking pretty good but there are maybe one or two small
patches that will cause trouble. And although the surface is pretty
clear there is still quite a bit on the bottom in certain places.
Arrived at 1pm rigged a 5.7 did 4 or 5 runs and it was time for the
4.7 did Ok with that but had to go back an forth over the afternoon
a 5.3 probably would have been a good compromise for most of the time.
water level between 221.5 and 221.8

They "spray" the weeds and that gets rid of them?
Never heard of that. Do you know how it works?
Sounds far fetched but would love to know the science behind it...
I always thought they dredged the lake with boats and physically removed the weeds/growth.
