|
|
was just informed - by the boss - probably be visiting Long Island ( and NOT CT)
guess I will bring Mistral Equipe II XR with 8.5 and 7-oh
that should cover me from 12 knots to about 25
hear it's quiet in terms of wind in July ...
now just need to find a park near MiddleIsland
WildWood State Park seems closest
can it be done ??
winds seem mostly south / off-shore tho
would have to be centreboarded windsurfer then
Peconic Bay seems popular ??
eastendwindsurf mentions New Suffolk
thx in advance |

Hi Joe,
We can get anything in terms of conditions in July...anything...though odds favor the lighter side.
Join the Yahoo Long Island Windsurfing Group (an old fashioned bulletin board) to get daily email updates (or join the conversation) to find out best spots day to day. Also definitely check out the map on my blog. If the winds are blowing SW and you can sail midweek, try South Jamesport. New Suffolk you should not sail without some people who know the spot...the boat traffic and currents can get weird.
Also: the local windsurfing shop is always good for advice (Hampton Watersports: 631-283-WIND)

joined the groupe = YAHOO
decided NOT to bring gear for one potential day with SO much family stuff planned in advance
did NOT go for that Triumph motorbike ride either
did make it to Jones Beach and the American Museum of Natural History
kids made it to the Yankees n Red Sox game - obvious who won
but they were too late to get some of the 18,000 caps
through the yahoo groupe learned about
Tanner, Heckster and WEEDS
even if i did not make it out
worst news - some dude had to get rescued
by marine police no less |
