The momentum behind windsurf foiling is growing fast. If you have any doubts, check out this blog created by Casey of the Reef Warrios

Well, if everyone else is doing it, you should also be following the head sheep.
Nice for fat boys to get upwind, nice for fatboys to get planing on smaller sails.
Nice to have a slow top speed, except Antoine Albeau, but he goes fast with anything under his feet.

I admit it interests me for planing on the really light wind days. Also for riding the swells. I have not done it yet, but I am following the trend closely.

Zirtaeb, I am 166lbs, not as you say a "fatboy", but it still interests me.

Kai Lenny really got me interested when I watched him foil with no sail on an SUP. If he can do it with no sail, I figured I should be able to do it with a sail.

I was glad to read the description from Casey on his blog.

From what I have seen, a 4.7 to 5.2 sail will get you foiling in light winds that would require a 7.0 - 7.5 for planing.
The foils aren't cheap, but no more expensive than a complete rig (sail, carbon mast and boom) in that larger size range.

Equal weight rider, a 5 meter foil match's up with a 6 meter fast freeride board, for sailors in the 155 lbs range.
The foil rider can plane slightly earlier, pumping the Formula board and the 30 inch long fin, can go upwind like a Formula board, and downwind too, but go slightly slower on a reach.
I windsurf with between 3-8 windsurf foil rider's at least 3 days a week.
There is no sensation of g force jibes or jumps.
