Oh yeah the big shutdown. Bottom fell out on the inside all the while it was building in the channel like it was turning out solid per the textbook.
It's been coming down before in the past, but Saturday was the first time that I remember I couldn't even slog in the floaty board that I took out as a precautionary measure, considering how the fog was sitting back there in the bleachers to the W all afternoon long. Personally I ended up swimming only a quarter mile or so, plenty upwind, but there was a scattering of kites down way out, so props to the guy on the jetski (Tony I now know) who ran out to pick up the stranded kiters. |

Yea I got caught inside at 3rd the other day too. Reminded me that West wind, even WNW causes a big ass windshadow. All the while the channel was excellent. |
