A few days ago, conditions were right to drag my old Tiga 254 VR out. Sailing it felt so comfortable.
Does anyone else use their old stuff when conditions are right? |

I far PREFER my "old stuff", and use it every windy day, for one simple reason: It does what I want to better than the newer stuff I've found. My old vs new dividing line runs about 2007, but my very favorites for anything short of full-on nuke days (averages pushing 40 mph) include three single-finned Wonderboards from 18 to 15 years old. Only when overpowered to the point of personal risk do I feel safer on my 2014 tri-fin ... and I like it so much because it went a bit retro in shape and has extra claws for traction and precision when struggling for control while maneuvering as hard as I can.
What's not to like, with their narrower hull, greater speed, smoother ride, thinner and narrower tails, and instantaneous heel'n'toe back-foot steering in the straps at any speed in any terrain? |
