Not too keen to go on to lbi, not sure I want to deal with traffic. Do I need a beach pass or something to sail ocean side? |

I'm going over to Trixies. Haven't sailed there in years so should be fun. Plenty of time to sail Spy house tomorrow.
Ocean side is a gamble today. Life guards or police may close beaches. |

No pass, no parking fee to sail at Holgate.

Did you sail Holgate? How was ocean?
I had great time on 4.2 at Allen rd. today. _________________ Andrew

I popped by Holgate after our sail at trixies (around 4:30pm) and noticed someone was out. Looked like a lot of fun!! Next time I have to give it a try.
Was great fun out today, thanks for all coming out. |

Hi guys, I'm the one, and only, windsurfer that was out at Holgate yesterday. I first went out on a 4.5/75 lt. board and got out easy but was over powered. So I dropped to a 4.0 and now underpowered had trouble getting out (I got washed down the beach in the fast current at the edge.) A bit later I was told by the guards not to go out because of the storm but they did acknowledge that they could not stop us from launching from the federal area. So me and one kite guy hit it. I had one hour of BIG sailing on a 4.5/87 lt.
You may have heard that they put A LOT of sand on the beach at Holgate but I think I can report that it still works about the same besides, much of it has washed away already.
See ya out there.

Brad, will you be out at Holgate again tomorrow? The latest forecast looks like there won't be as much rain so I'm hoping lbi won't have flooding.
Keen to hit the ocean if it's not too crazy. |
