Moving to Eugene, new house is 8.5 miles away from the lake. Any word on sailing?

We used to race stock windsurfers there back in the 1980's.
Comments are this is a good place for sailboats.
Best case I have seen reports of 20mph NNE winds there in late summer and early fall when strong thermal troughs are moving up the Willamette Valley.
If you are serious about under 100 liter and no uphaul, the Central Oregon Coast is not too far, and the Gorge is arguably within reach.

Im cool with some light days on a body of water that big and open thats 12 miles from my house. I am just getting back into sailing after a 15+ year break. Sitting at the lake right now wishing I had gear , light whitecaps 3 sailboats out.

My wife will be so happy if I can do that for her. But yo know guys now a days my financial condition growing not so well so I can sail. Crying or Very sad
