Ypu could easily pull the Allgaier Cassette and daggerboard from any ‘80s era HiFly or Wayler but the issue would be matching hull thickness. You might consider instead using the Kona system which just involves two plates which screw into the deck: http://store.konaone.com/us/footstrap-set-445.html

You’ll still have to rout and glass an accurately sized opening. If it were me I’d look at some of the hybrid designs (exocet, Kona) which arer already set up for both paddling and sailing.

Both the job and the probable result (sticky daggerboard, water spraying thru) sound like a giant PITA. Have you considered a power or Tuttle fin box?

Agree.

You would be much better off selling your board and replacing it with one that already comes with a dagger board. What you're talking about doing would be a very involved, custom project with likely a poor result if you don't have much experience working on boards.

I have a Tuttle box that accepts an appropriate fin for a daggerboard on my Starboard wind sup and like it. Board turns on a dime with or without the dagger fin. Goes up wind real well too. I take it out when there are waves to play in, or when sand bars present a hazard. I think it would be an easy modification without the possibility of ruining your board.

I would not recommend trying to put a retractable daggerboard in a sup. Won't fit right, adds too much weight, lips stick or flap, etc.

It's much easier to add a fixed fin.

Just install a US Box finbox on the belly of the board, about a foot behind the mast base. Put a short but fat fin in the finbox. For the center fin, use something like one of these SUP race fins. They are designed to keep the board going straight at slow speeds, and not catch weeds, and they work pretty good as a fixed dagger fin.

I have done this before and it works pretty well. The upwind angles that you get aren't as good as on a real windsurf board with a daggerboard, but they are still MUCH better than without any dagger-fin.

Seems like you would need a lot of reinforcement. A centerboard would take a pretty big load. I'm guessing that boards with centerboards are heavier by more than just the weight of the centerboard and cassette.
