Ive been through this a couple of times now and have come up with the same answer. Get a pickup with a shell. It seperates the wet and stinky from the cab, holds way more gear, doesnt have to be as high and generally cost a bit less. SUVs dont have the space in back. Im short and so cannot reach to strap boards to the roof easily. I chose a Dodge Dakota. |

If you can find one get a VW Vanagon. It has the most interior space of all of the vans, uses virtually zero gas and will zip along the freeway at 75 all day long. |
