The Gorge and Columbia River are abnormally cold now. And there is a lot of snow melt runoff in the forecast. It's going to be an epic spring for wildflowers! We could use some hot air to warm up the river. In the last week, the temperature at The Dalles went up 2 degrees to 41F. Woohoo! So watch out this spring when the air temperature goes up and irrational exuberance abounds. Increased risk for hypothermia.

*This has no relation to Global Warming, which is has been reliably measured in the oceans of this water planet. Even the Columbia River is a drop in the bucket compared to the oceans. |

I typically try to wait until it hits 50, which I believe was on or about the first week of April last year...wondering if it is going to hit 50 by mid May this year.. |

People ask if the water is cold,,, you say, I'm sailing not swimming. Usually the second session splashes in the face are Really cold.
I know about breaking down but I have a tow truck. |

Hey Kevin,
I don't think the Columbia water is ever "toasty", but you can probably expect about 65 degrees at Doug's and 62 degrees at the Hatchery
by then.
