Sorry if this has already been posted but it's interesting how the sports may be crossing over just a bit.

The Logosz's were in Windsurfing before Slingshot so it's back to the roots. Windsurfing with foils predates kites by decades.

Nice options and price, especially that plate to spread the load. |

i sold all my formula boards.., and don't have anything with a deep tuttle box
but a friend has a starboard free-formula board with a deep tuttle box- is there any reason i couldn't try a foil on that? |

i don't see why not......
has anyone tried any slingshot boards or any foil specific boards ?
How do you size them ? at 175lbs...and say a 5.7m sail... what wind would i need to get up on a foil.....how about a 7.7m. I imagine boardsize is only relevant when not on the foil in regards to volume.
It is pretty neat. I will probably get one in the future....but wher i live it is a little limited....we have weeds at half the places we sail. |

Neil Pryde is going to have one too
http://www.neilpryde.com/blog/introducing-the-rs-flight-foil-program.html
They are positioning it as more of a racing thing than a free ride thing, but i guess you can use it however you like. I have seen a price of $750 on the NP aluminum foil, which is a fair bit less than the Slingshot foil.
as far as board size - i would have guessed that it doesn't make a lot of difference as well, but Slingshot has many different board sizes.., so it probably does make a difference.
i am definitely getting one - maybe the one that's available first. |
