When will we see detailed forecasts? It is time to devote the weekends to the water and we need your expert forecasts to avoid wasted wind searching. Also, what sensor is used now at Rooster? Is it still on the restroom roof in the parking lot, and can we assume wind speeds on the water are 10 to 15 greater than the readings? |

iWindsurfs forecasts have run all winter long and continue now. However, the more in-depth forecasts will begin in early April. Hold on to your hat because there are some very cool features coming in April.
Regarding the Gorge, our man Stu is presently toiling under the Texas sun installing wind sensors from South Padre Island and Bird Island to Dallas to Surfside and Galveston. Several of the new sensors are online now:

Stu will be back doing the Gorge forecasting thing in early April. Regarding Rooster Rock, the previous location of our wind sensor was the ranger station. When it burned down last summer, that was that. We have been providing the Troutdale airport reading since then, and it has proven to at least give a hint of conditions at Rooster.
Keep on sailin,
