Two booms equals 6 strong guys.
Flip mast upside down, stick it solidly down, shake it and listen.

^+1 on the tape - electrical or other !!
.
also when putting mast together - wipe first , listen, , take apart and back together until smooth insertion - no snap, crackle, pop onomatopoeia

Haha, thank you!
It does look like they aren't holding the booms at the right place, to the clew for more leverage !
Electrical tape is great for two reasons, helps keep the mast together when rigging and derigging, and it may help prevent some water entry at the junction. That said I don't use it, I may want my mast to come apart when rigging or derigging (makes less folds in the sail).
Also, it won't do anything if there's sand, mud, salt, mast friction residue, inside the mast already. Sand, dust, mud are more common to enter from the base when rigging/derigging.
Eventually water will make its way in from the top or the base too. Mast friction wear over time may get any mast stuck so it's nice to have all the tips we can get to separate them!
