Curious if anyone else managed to get out yesterday (Monday) along the NJ coast.
I ended up getting in a short solo session at Trixies in the afternoon. Absolutely classic summer thermal conditions. Sunny, warm, and windy. I arrived around 4:00 and the wind was S/SW at a solid 25 and gradually built to around 30 with higher gusts (check the kite island wind graph) and some nice starboard ramps rolling up the bay. Unfortunately the smallest size I brought was my 5.3 and I pretty much ended up getting blown off the water (I had to make my gear choice in the morning and the forecasts ended up being a little on the low end).
Anyway, I hope some other folks got out. It is truly amazing that this incredible resource that we have so often goes virtually unused. I thought for sure there would have been at least a couple folks at Trixies or Laurel Blvd. Hoping to hook up with some other sailors next time.

Was at Lakes Bay. 4.2 downhauled to max ... ended up been overpowered any way. There was normal size people on 3.2! _________________ Andrew

Laurel blvd would be very similar to Trixies, it is maybe a mile south or so. It launches almost directly into the main boat channel. On summer weekends in the mid morning to mid afternoon it can be hectic. The best option is to sail across to the far side of the bay to get away from the main boat traffic. On the week days, traffic is pretty much a non-issue.
Regardless of where you launch in the bay, always keep your head on a swivel and never assume a power boater sees you or will avoid you. If one does slow down or alter course to give you way, be sure to throw them a wave as a sign of appreciation.

Thinking of heading up to NJ coast tomorrow (Thur) - from MD.
Is anyone else thinking of sailing one of: Laurel Blvd / Trixies / Allen Rd?
Also, if it is above 16kt (6.0 for me), I'd be up for ocean side sailing, even a downwinder, if anyone is interested.
Around Barnegat Light&inlet is where it looks to be the strongest, but of course it can all change tomorrow.
I am familiar with bayside LBI and IBSP launches, but not with the ocean side ones.
